Modern keyless vehicles can be vulnerable to relay attacks, a method where thieves capture and extend the signal from a key fob to unlock and start a vehicle, even while the key itself is safely elsewhere. FOB‑X mitigates this risk by allowing the user to isolate the key’s signal at the press of a button, rendering it useless to would‑be thieves.
On the current tested models, when signal isolation is enabled, the physical buttons on the key fob continue to operate normally, including locking, unlocking, remote start, and opening the trunk or hardcover. This means increased security without sacrificing everyday convenience.
